Beyond satisfied...! I was skeptical, to say the least. What was I going to get for this low price?! I received my order faster than expected and was thrilled to get what looks (to me) like a high quality replica sword. It is heavy and sturdy. Might not be the sword to take into battle but it is absolutely the sword for display...!!!

I bought this one and a Excalibur for the wall these are not fighting swords. Hence the price. If you are looking for real swords you will have to open your wallet. I love them both.

Recently purchased a Claymore and two war hatchets for display and am very pleased - especially with the quick delivery.

I just received my order of 8 Scottish Twisted Claymores (in 5 days!). Every sword was outstanding in appearance & quality. These are for my son's wedding in September, and I could not have done better had I hand picked each one myself! Many thanks, BudK...I will definitely recommend you to my family & friends.

great sword. I TOOK IT APART AND DID A WIRE WRAP ON THE HANDLE, AS WELL AS TIGHTENING THE WHOLE SWORD. THE BLADE IS STRAIGHT, AND HAS A NICE RING WHEN TAPPED WITH A HAMMER.. LOOKS GREAT ON MY DEN WALL ALONG WITH MY BAGPIPES AND TARG.

last summer i saw a Shakespeare play. in it there was a lot of sword fighting. when i got home i started researching different swords, then i stumbled on this web site, and thought it was the best thing that had ever happened to me. so i was looking for a sword and found this sword, its a really good piece of hardware, its tough, its durable, its lasted me for a long time. so i would definitely recommend it for a friend, thats why i gave it a five out of five.

I say this is the best affordable sword BUDK sells. To find a better sword would be hard and cost PLENTY more. The blade did wiggle VERY slightly, but putting cardboard down the slides of the handle solved it easily. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone.Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. Ive had this words for about 5 hours and the swords is hard to draw if you are not tall from over your shoulder. Overall i think it is a quality sword and i will continue to buy from trueswords.

I love this sword. It is my favorite sword in my collection . It was beautifully crafted. The only fault is when you swung it hard the blade slightly rattles. The sheath was pretty cheap. It was worth every penny.

this was my first buy from budk. I think i was in the 8th grade about 9 years by now, wow. Although i wouldn't swing at anything hard with it, the handle construction is as sturdy as it is pretty and feels right. Now, however i am 6'4", and i can wield it one-handed, but it's still my baby. The sheath was really raw leather, untreated and subject to tearing. I used beeswax to treat it, which darkened it up and reinforced fibers. The wood in the handle has started to loosen and chip, but that's because i like to swing it around and hear the wind whip! After 9 years still one of my favorites, and great price!

this sword is freakin awesome! i just got it today and i love it all ready! nothing really wrong with it, except the fact that it is a tiny bit wobbly, but that isn't a problem. i highly recommend it to any sword fan/collector. 5 out of 5!

This is the first sword I ever bought and I must say that it is, by far, my favorite. The sheath is a little too big, however that is easily fixed. I recomend this sword to everyone!
Jul 02, 2008

It is very awesome! We have a very large blade to go with it. Well even though its not full tang its still an awesome blade. Nothing wrong with it that i can find. Its very sturdy, very long blade, very strong blade of course. Really I dont know what else to say. Our first sword, and it wont be the last. (written by my 7 year old son)

One word i would use to describe this thing is beast. Honest to God, nothing compares to swinging around a well made broadsword such as this. I got it today, and I can't believe what a great deal i got. The only problem is that the blade is a tiny bit wobbly, but it's really hard to notice.

Buy it!

No questions asked!
Mar 21, 2008

OMG! this things a beast
i mean it not the acurate 56 inch claymore weve come to love but still it awsome
we got this for a room in our house me plan to make scotish...ey
the leather sheath is a nice bonus
I cant personaly find a thing wrong with this blade...seriously
it met all expectations then some
cannot beleive how many times trueswords have come through
if your thinking of buying it five words: BUY IT. this is an amazingly crafted blade. I honestly cannot find a single thing wrong with it. It is the second sword in my colection and... well, just wow. the blade is much bigger than I thought. TrueSwords came through again!
Jul 02, 2014

Well you get what you pay for, it's an ok blade but no meant to swing around or anything like that... Sure it looks pretty cool and all and is made pretty good but, the blade is not sharp at all. So its an ok blade overall..

Grandson recently attended a "Shakespeare" festival and enjoyed the Period Dress. I ordered this for a Christmas Present and He "Loved It"!!! The delivery was prompt and I thought the workmanship was good. If I had known how nice the sword was, I would have had it delivered directly to Him. When I order other items, I will, to save double postage because I trust other items will have the same quality.
Sep 23, 2013

I am happy with this sword. it is a nice piece for show or reenactments, but I wouldn't recommend swinging it around even though it does have a slight sharpness. it feels like if I tried to cut something with it it would lose the blade so i am not going to try that anytime soon. thanks budk i really like your products and am about to order again in a few more weeks
Sep 11, 2013

Love the sword, only complaint i have is that my blade is of center a bit. the middle piece the goes from the hilt to the blade is towards the left more than the center. other than that, it's a beautiful piece to hang.
Jan 09, 2012

To start...I love this sword. It's the first sword I've added to my extensive knife collection and it's a perfect fit. I purchased this item for a display/costume piece. I am slightly disappointed with the craftsmanship of the piece, but for this price, its totally understandable. Thanks BudK. I look forward to purchasing more of your wares.

Hi im twelve and this sword is awesome! mine came loose and a bit chipped with a crooked blade but i called and told trueswords the problem and they shipped me a new one free! Trueswords has amazing products with even better customer service! But aside from that the sword is absolutely beautiful and it looks great on the wall! Thanks trueswords!

I got the claymore for my son's 16th birthday. It is very well built and very heavy which is a good thing. The gold coloured part of the handle was a bit tarnished but that could probably be taken care of. Please trueswords, if you can, sharpen the swords a little bit huh? This thing was blunter than those women on The View.
Jul 28, 2009

this sword is awesome its not sharp but its got a cool hand guard.

there are a couple bad thing though. Like the strap on the sheath is a little small and the blade is a tiny bit wobbly but you can't really feel it when you swing it.

other than that the sword is really good that's why i give it a 4 out of 5.

I wear this sword at numerous Renaissance Faires. The sword is very well made though the wooden handle could use a little sanding and a 1-2 coats of varnish. The sword is very sturdy and historically accurate. The sheath, however, is not very good. It does protect the sword and wearer, but the tip comes apart very easily, the strap is thin and fragile, and it is not historically accurate. Overall VERY good sword for the price. I recommend spending a little on a new sheath.

I wear this sword on my back with my scottish highlander costume at the local renisance faire and others have admired it and asked my where I got it. It is unique and impressive at a good VERY good price. I gave this sword a 4 instead of a 5 because the scabard is not historicly correct but that was an easy fix.
Feb 27, 2016

it is a very nice display piece it looks very nice and i would recommend it if you dont want to use it and the sheath broke out of the box
Jan 09, 2016

excellent for the price, but I tried using it, and the blade became loose, the handle became very loose, and really wasn't for chopping, but it's now hanging on my wall, and does a good job at that. quality was fair for the price, the cross guard and pommel are fairly secure, but very strong, the handle is a little loose, and the blade is fairly built, but not great, but wiggly and not too secure to the welded on tang. altogether excellent for display, but not suggested for use
Oct 05, 2010

I recently obtained this sword for my birthday and was pleased with its' design. However, my sword was only 42 inches long and the blade was only 30 inches. The man in the picture must be no more than 5'8" to achieve the ratio seen in the picture. I am 5'11" and the sword looks like a toy on my back.
Nov 04, 2016

Sword is fine but the handles is loose and the Scabbard sucks. it's not big enough to Sheth Sword well and the strap to put around to wear it on your back is child size and poorly made it brakes easy

I was greatly disappointed in this sword. First of all it is not an athentic claymore. Athentic Claymores are much larger. I also thought that the handle was leather and it is actually wood. That was just a downside. But the sword does have a great look to it, so if you want if for decoration then I would buy it. Although if you are a true collector pass on this item. Look somewhere else
Sep 15, 2014

I was pleased with the quick delivery on such a large item, but was disappointed when I found that the sword was not sharpened and the point and the chappe was off center. The finish is cheap and the blade is very loose, so much so, that it rattles between the rain guard. All in all, cheap but good looking.
