Ridge Runner Celtic Elite Fixed Blade Knife With Sheath

It really is full tang so it feels powerful, the green wood is very eye catching. I collect alot of blades mostly combat but I got this one specifically cause it was pretty to me. It not only looks great but in my opinion it seats well in my hand and even though I got it to be a "dress knife" (weddings, funerals, graduation, whatever the occasion) it is fully capable to be a combat/self-defense knife as well. My girl even likes this knife cause on top of everything I mentioned above it also matches her eyes. Cool thing was that I got this as a bogo so she got one too. Thank you BudK.

What can I say? This ridge runner knife fits my hand like a glove. Has a shape edge, and great weight. The only thing cheap about it is the price, awesome addition to my collection.

first of all this knife is beautiful!. the wood coloration is perfect, and while the markings on the handle are just a bit dull on mine they look very intricate and nice. the handle is a lot more square than I thought, but I think that adds to the feeling that this knife was made for my hand, no other knife has been this comfortable for me to hold. the blade is really gracefully curved and is razor sharp. haven't had a chance to do any work with it but im thinking it will hold up just fine

This is one of my favorite blades of all the knives & swords we sell; it's also one of those that I carry myself. I've always loved the combination of elegance and a sturdy working blade, and this one captures that combo perfectly! It's full tang, carries a nice edge, and is excellently balanced. I've found through my customer base that it fits almost any hand very comfortably, and has a nice secure grip. It can also be carried as a boot knife if you wish, though designed more as a belt carry. I'd recommend any of the knives of this series, though the nice Celtic knotwork persuaded me to get this one for myself. It's also been the most popular one of the series among my customers. The *only* criticism I have of this series is that the sheath, while a decently study ballistic nylon design, has a loop/snap that's too low. Though it shows off the beautiful hilt well, if carried on the belt, it allows way too much play in the hilt, and looks, (though in no actual danger of) falling out of the sheath. I solved this problem by making my own custom leather sheath, and advise my customers of the issue. Aside from making a new sheath, the problem can be solved by taking off the loop and replacing it with one that hits the hilt higher up. This is a fairly minor issue however, as most people who carry/use it regularly will be replacing the sheath anyway, and if it's only on display, it's not an issue. Anyway, this is a great blade, second only in my heart to my original Hibbens Silver Shadow. I not only recommend this blade, but I sell it to my customers all the time with absolutely no reservations!

This is a well crafted item. Very sharp and absolutely beautiful. The pictures are accurate. Love the grip on this knife both forward and reverse. Made my own sheath out of leather...I wear this thing as much as I can.

Like Tim (one of the other reviewers), I own all the Ridge Runner Bowies ... wood, pearl, abalone, celtic. They are a great value, with nice balance and feel in the hand, not too big, not too small, and solid build. Pretty sharp out of the box, blade looks like it'll take lots of sharpening and is stout. These are a bargain, especially when looking for something 'crafted' rather than 'tactical'. My Irish buddy really liked the Celtic knife for his birthday and added it to the other Celtic stuff I've gotten for him ... he's a good friend and enjoys pretty much everything Ireland/Celtic/Scot. Makes a fun and 'different' gift ... note that the sheaths are well made and fit well using a belt loop, but are not leather. A leather sheath that will accomodate a 5 inch moderate bowie blade should work ok (maybe from another knife purchase?). One last thing regarding the handle which is solid feeling ... the top edge is flat, the handle sides are flat, and the bottom edge is flat ... this produces a narrow-ish flat-sided handle width ... no palm swells. I think it feels great in the hand and makes for flat carry next to the body. I guess if I was going to go out of my way to be critical it would be: 1) Non-leather sheath (at this price point it's an idiotic complaint) 2) Very good but not perfect fit of the handle inlays, meaning the fit of wood against metal is very good but not necessarily absolutely perfect. This observation is similar to wood against metal fit on a firearm ... if you want perfection be ready to pony up triple the money for the high-end wood and fit. For what this knife costs, the above observations are ridiculous. I only point them out for those who are very very very picky, or who simply want the low-down on every angle of the product. Like I said, I think these are tremendous ... great knives at the price of a 6 pack of micro-brewery beer.

I own the complete collection of Ridge Runner Bowies in this style. They are elegant, nicely balanced and well crafted. The celtic bowie has exquisite scroll work and the green wood inlays just make this knife pop! The quality far exceeds the cost. Great knife.

If you intend on wearing this, you'll need to upgrade the "custom" sheath, as this ones strap sits too low allowing the knife to flop forward due to its heavy handle.

It has a really nice weight to it and it's really pretty. But it didn't come razor sharp like the description said it would

Great knife I have some Irish ancestryand it makes me proud to be able to display that ancestry when I wear it. Only draw back is the dye/paint on the handle is starting to rub off. Other than that I am very happy with this knife.

Got the knife cause of it's appearance but wasn't expecting something of quality. It's a pretty solid knife at a fantastic price only reason it got a 4 from me because it could be sharper and I hate the sheath it comes with.

The knife is of good quality and will hold a sharp edge. I bought several for sale in my store and the response has been very noticeable from my customers. I think as a practical knife for hunters is is also great.
